Vintage Anatolian Turkish Rug
Teal corners filled with tiny cream-and-pink dots step in toward a long wine-red center, and that contrast is what makes this one so striking. The cream medallion in the middle is outlined in teal and has a branching, tree-like cross inside, with little hooks curling off every arm. Small flower sprigs hang off both ends. Anatolian village weavers often used hooked branches like these as symbols for growth and protection, and they kept the background open so the motifs would really stand out. The wide cream border is lined with round rosettes in teal, wine, and sage, and an outer teal band adds a row of pink flowers
