Vintage Kurdish Persian Runner
Five big saffron-gold medallions are linked down the length of this runner like a chain, each with stepped edges and a checkerboard center of red, blue, and teal squares. Every square has its own little cross or flower inside. The background is a deep charcoal-black, scattered with tiny red and pink flowers, sprigs, and odd little shapes. Kurdish weavers in western Iran tended to fill every open spot with whatever motifs came to mind, so there’s always something new to find. There’s no border, just the field running edge to edge with a red-and-black wrapped edge along the sides. The wool is glossy and the pile is thick and full, so it’s a great fit for a hallway that gets a lot of foot traffic.
Size: 10'10 x 2'3
Material: Wool pile on cotton foundation
All rugs have been professionally cleaned and restored. Age related wear and patina are considered normal. Items may not be perfectly straight or rectangle.
Rugs have been photographed in moderate to bright natural light. Colors may vary depending on the amount of light in your space or due to your phone/screen settings.
Vacuum on low with the brush roller off. Spot clean with warm water and mild soap when life happens. Professional clean as needed.
