Vintage Hamadan Persian Runner
Faded watermelon-pink runs all through this runner, mixed with cream, tan, and hints of sage and peach. Three big medallions are stacked down the middle, each with sawtooth edges and a small star at the center, plus hooked shapes and little flowers filling in around them. The colors have mellowed after decades of sun and foot traffic, and the pile has worn down low and smooth, so everything has a soft, washed-out look you can’t fake. Hamadan-area weavers usually worked from memory, which is why the medallions are all a little different from each other.
