Vintage Hamadan Persian Rug

The whole background is covered in little trees, branches, and flowers in navy, mint, and lavender, all set on a soft pink that's faded so nicely. If you flip it over, the back is a much deeper red. The front has mellowed into this pink over decades in the sun, which is something no new rug can copy. Down the middle you'll find two rows of chunky square "blossoms" with branches reaching out to the sides. Village weavers in the Hamadan area often worked loose, freehand designs like this, so it feels more like a garden than a pattern.
