No. 1815 | 7'3 x 5'0

Vintage Kayseri Turkish Rug

This one has a berry-pink background with a sage-green diamond in the middle, surrounded by swirly cream and blue-gray shapes that almost look like they're moving. At the top and bottom are big dark-brown hooked brackets, each framing its own little sage-and-coral panel. Kayseri workshops were known for borrowing older Caucasian and Persian designs and weaving them in softer, muted colors, which is how you end up with this kind of bold layout in such gentle tones. The border is a soft blush-and-sage floral with thin striped edges on either side. The weave is fine and tight, and the colors have settled into a dusty, lived-in mix.
