This piece hails from the Kerman weaving tradition of south-central Iran, known for its finer knot counts and a signature all-over floral repeat rather than a single bold medallion. The muted aubergine-plum field, scattered with tiny florets in dusty blue, sage, and cream, points to city or workshop-level production rather than village weaving — Kerman workshops were prized for exactly this kind of fine, dense detail work using naturally dyed wool.
