Vintage Turkish Anatolian Rug, Central Turkey, Mid-20th Century
This small-format piece comes from the Anatolian weaving tradition of central Turkey, built around a stacked-diamond medallion layout in deep magenta and slate blue-gray — a design lineage rooted in village and tribal rug-making rather than city workshops. The ivory hexagonal center medallion, packed with small botanical and geometric devices, is where you can really see the weaver's individual hand, since no two of these center fields are ever drawn quite the same way. Colors are rich and largely true to their original saturation, with only light, even wear consistent with a well-loved mid-century piece.
