Vintage Turkish Kayseri Rug, Central Turkey, Mid-20th Century
This small piece comes from Kayseri, a Central Anatolian weaving center known for finer knot counts and this kind of continuous scrolling vine pattern (called "islimi") covering the entire field rather than a bold medallion. The blush pink ground with sage and forest green vinework is a classic Kayseri colorway, and the tight weave gives it a smoother, almost silky hand compared to the chunkier village rugs from elsewhere in Turkey. There's some visible wear and a few small repaired spots along the edges and corners, which is worth noting but doesn't take away from the piece's fine detail work.
