Vintage Persian Karadja Runner, Northwest Iran, circa Mid 20th Century

A classic Karadja runner, marked by its chain of angular, star-shaped medallions in ivory and rust set against a deep brick-red field — geometric, high-contrast, and unmistakably village-woven rather than workshop-drawn. Karadja pieces, from the district northeast of Tabriz, are known for exactly this kind of bold, folk-art patterning and durable handle. At nearly 10 feet, it's a great long-hallway piece with genuine age and character.
