Vintage Anatolian Turkish Rug
A deep raspberry-mauve field runs the length of this runner, left largely open to let a chain of interlocking octagonal medallions carry the design — a layout favored by Anatolian village weavers, who strung connected medallions down long, narrow runners rather than filling the ground with secondary pattern. Each medallion is worked in navy with a red floral rosette center, giving the piece a rhythmic, almost architectural repeat as it runs the full length. The wide camel-colored border is dense with small stylized birds and figures, a livelier, more populated band than the quieter field it frames, and typical of the folk-motif vocabulary found in Anatolian village weaving.
